A new ISBA ethics ruling was recently issued regarding attorneys participating in a realty office sponsored title program, where they have to give title orders to the realty office’s title company in exchange for the realtors referring clients to the attorney. The ethics ruling states that the attorney is breaching his fiduciary duties to his client and has potential conflicts of interest. See Updated News for more. |
